2. License Details & Public Domain Status
World English Bible (WEB)
The World English Bible is a modern English translation of the Holy Bible. It is in the Public Domain (no copyright). The translator, Michael Paul Johnson, has waived all copyright claims globally. The text is sourced directly from USFM archives at eBible.org.
Berean Standard Bible (BSB)
The Berean Standard Bible text is officially dedicated to the public domain under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal public domain dedication. This allows royalty-free use for any purpose.
Historical Translations (ASV, KJV, YLT, BBE, Webster)
These historical translations are supplied from sources that identify their public-domain status. That status should not be read as a worldwide permission statement. In particular, rights in the King James Version in the United Kingdom are administered for the Crown by Cambridge University Press, as described in its official copyright notice.
3. Open Source Database Acknowledgements
ScriptureSide utilizes Bible databases and utility scripts adapted from the open-source community:
- scrollmapper/bible_databases: Provides standardized JSON formatting schemas and initial public domain scripture database structures under the MIT License.
- eBible.org: Provides official USFM archives for the World English Bible (WEB) and New Heart English Bible (NHEB).
