“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness.”

Where this verse sits

Isaiah 41 addresses Israel, God’s servant, in a dispute with the nations and their idols. “I am with you” and “I will strengthen you” are covenant words spoken to a people who are afraid, not a general encouragement detached from that argument. The righteous right hand is God’s. Read far enough into the chapter to hear who is being spoken to, then bring your own fear to the same God who refuses to abandon his people.

Read Isaiah 41

Reflection

God tells His people not to fear and assures them of His presence, strength, and support. We do not have to live in fear because the Almighty God is personally present with us. He is our strength when we are weak, our shield when we are vulnerable, and our steady support when we are stumbling. His righteous right hand holds us secure.

A prayer from this verse

“Almighty Father, thank You for Your promise to be with me, to strengthen me, and to uphold me. When fear rises, remind me of Your presence. Hold me tight in Your righteous right hand today. In Jesus' name, Amen.”

One action: Read Isaiah 41:10 slowly and notice its assurances of God's presence and support when you feel overwhelmed today.
