The psalmist begins by praising God regarding his splendor and majesty.

Commentary on Psalm 104
Psalm 104 is a majestic hymn of creation. It declares plainly: "the earth is full of your creatures" (v. 24). The psalmist marvels at how God lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters and how the deep waters stood above the mountains (v. 6) before God rebuked them.
The psalm details the cycle of nature - the moon marking seasons, the sun knowing when to set, and the darkness of night wherein the beasts of the forest prowl (v. 20). The young lions roar for prey and lie down in their dens (v. 22) when the sun rises.
God's glory is everywhere. He is clothed with splendor and majesty (v. 1), covering himself with a garment of light. If he touches the mountains, they smoke (v. 32). The psalmist vows to sing to the Lord as long as he lives, hoping his meditation is pleasing.
Yet, there is a sober note at the end - a prayer that sinners vanish from the earth (v. 35) so that the harmony of creation is restored. But the final word is praise: "Bless the Lord, O my soul."
