Bible Verse of the Day for September 30, 2026

Where this verse sits

Romans 8:1 follows the struggle described in chapter 7. “No condemnation” belongs to those who are in Christ Jesus, and the rest of the chapter explains life in the Spirit, suffering, and a love that nothing can separate from them. Do not take the first sentence away from that argument. If you have time for one longer reading, continue through Romans 8 to the end and let the comfort arrive with the context that makes it true.

Reflection

For those who are in Christ Jesus, condemnation is a thing of the past. The law of the Spirit of life has set us free from the law of sin and death. Often, our own hearts or the enemy of our souls will try to drag us back into guilt and shame. But this verse stands as a firm declaration of our freedom. In Christ, we are fully forgiven, fully accepted, and fully loved. There is no lingering sentence or judgment against us.

A prayer from this verse

“Father, thank You that there is now no condemnation for me because I am in Christ Jesus. Deliver me from the lies of shame and guilt. Help me walk in the freedom and joy of Your complete forgiveness today. In Jesus' name, Amen.”

One action: Whenever a thought of past shame arises today, declare aloud: 'Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.'
