Bible Verse of the Day for October 6, 2026

Where this verse sits

Jeremiah 29 is a letter to exiles in Babylon. The plans for welfare, a future, and a hope come with instructions to build houses, plant gardens, and seek the peace of the city where they have been sent. The promised return is measured in decades. Verse 11 is hope for people who must live faithfully in a place they did not choose. Read the letter from the beginning through verse 14 before you apply the line to a plan of your own.

Reflection

God assures the exiles that His plans are for their good and offer a future and a hope. When the Israelite exiles received this promise, they were in captivity and things looked bleak. Yet God assured them that His plans were good and purposeful. We can have hope in our future not because our current circumstances are perfect, but because our God is faithful and His plans for us are anchored in His goodness.

A prayer from this verse

“Father, thank You for Your thoughts of peace and Your plans for my hope and future. When the path ahead feels dark or confusing, help me trust in Your overarching goodness and timing. In Jesus' name, Amen.”

One action: Write down one area where you are struggling to see a positive future, and pray Jeremiah 29:11 over it today.
