Bible Verse of the Day for October 7, 2026

Where this verse sits

Joshua 1 commissions Joshua after the death of Moses, on the edge of the land. The command to be strong and courageous is repeated, and each time it is tied to the Lord’s presence and to obedience to the law Moses gave. Courage in this chapter is not self-belief. Read the commission and notice how often strength is attached to meditating on the word and to the promise that the Lord goes with his people.

Reflection

God called Joshua to courage as he prepared to lead Israel, telling him not to fear or lose heart. The reason for this boldness was not Joshua's military skill or self-confidence, but the promise: 'for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.' Knowing that the Creator of the universe walks with us into every room, every challenge, and every conversation removes the foundation of fear.

A prayer from this verse

“Lord God, thank You for Your constant presence. Command courage into my heart today. Help me stand strong and face my challenges knowing that You go with me wherever I go. In Jesus' name, Amen.”

One action: Identify one task or conversation you have been avoiding out of fear, and complete it today, trusting that God is with you.
