Bible Verse of the Day for October 10, 2026

Where this verse sits

Hebrews 4 warns a congregation not to repeat the wilderness generation’s refusal of God’s rest. It says that the word of God lays the heart open, and then it presents Jesus as the great high priest who sympathizes with weakness and is without sin. The throne of grace can be approached because of him. Read verses 14 through 16 with the warning that comes before them, so boldness does not turn into carelessness about the rest God still offers.

Reflection

Because of Jesus, our High Priest, we do not have to approach God with hesitation or fear. We are invited to draw near with boldness to the throne of grace. This is not a throne of judgment or condemnation, but of grace. There, we find mercy to cover our past failures and grace to help us in our present time of need. Whatever you are facing, the door to the Father is wide open.

A prayer from this verse

“Father, thank You for inviting me to approach Your throne of grace with boldness. I come today seeking Your mercy for my mistakes and Your grace to help me stand strong. Thank You for welcoming me. In Jesus' name, Amen.”

One action: Write out a personal prayer request that you have hesitated to bring to God, and pray it boldly today, trusting His grace.
